FADE IN:
EXT. TOWNHOUSE – DAY
Establishing shot of the small townhouse. It looks to be midmorning/early afternoon. It looks to be a peaceful, quiet home.
ZOOM IN:
EXT. TOWNHOUSE – DAY
Zoom into the front door, as though the viewer is walking inside.
INT. UPSTAIRS TOWNHOUSE FELICITY’S BEDROOM – DAY
Full shot of a doorframe outlining a bedroom. It looks to be a young girls bedroom. Just inside FELICITY (8) is pulling on a pair of black gloves. She is dressed in all black from head to toe. Her hair is pulled back.
INT. UPSTAIRS TOWNHOUSE HALLWAY – DAY
FELICITY leaves her bedroom; her movements are slow and sneaky. She’s careful to step toe first to test the floor for creaks. She turns her head to peer into another doorframe.
INT. UPSTAIRS TOWNHOUSE BROTHERS’ BEDROOM – DAY
The camera tilts around the bend into another bedroom. This one is obviously a boy’s bedroom, with the walls painted blue. Inside, two boys RILEY (10) and SEBASTIAN (13) are playing a game on the TV. FELICITY creeps away and the camera follows her.
INT. UPSTAIRS TOWNHOUSE HALLWAY – DAY
FELICITY walks a bit more down the short hallway before peeking into another bedroom. This one belongs to her parents.
INT. UPSTAIRS TOWNHOUSE BEDROOM – DAY
KATHRYN (34) is sitting on her bed, reading on her eReader. FELICITY creeps away and once again the camera follows her.
INT. DOWNSTAIRS TOWNHOUSE STAIRS – DAY
The camera watched FELICITY walk down the stairs still moving slowly and quietly. She rounds the corner at the bottom of the stairs.
INT. DOWNSTAIRS TOWNHOUSE HALLWAY – DAY
FELICITY peers into the living room to see that no one is there. She slinks past and into the final stretch; the kitchen.
INT. DONWSTAIRS TOWNHOUSE KITCHEN – DAY
Close up shot on the counter where there is a cookie jar. Cut back to FELICITY’S face, which is lit up with excitement. In her joy, she takes a hasty step, and the floor creaks. She freezes immediately. After a few seconds of silence, she begins moving once again. Finally she reaches the treasure, her hands grab the lid for the cookie jar, and she slowly opens it. Her other hand reaches in and pulls out a chocolate chip cookie. Closing the jar she puts the cookie to her mouth.
EXT. STREET – DAY
Full shot of outside, where there is a COP (ZACK) walking down the street, doing a routine patrol. There is a dramatic pause as he hears the creak from within the townhouse.
EXT. TOWNHOUSE – DAY
ZACK walks up to the townhouse and peers into what looks to be the kitchen window. Seeing that FELICITY is reaching into the cookie jar, he rushes to the front door and bursts through it.
INT. DOWNSTAIRS TOWNHOUSE KITCHEN – DAY
Focus on the front door behind FELICITY, which suddenly slams open revealing ZACK, flashing his badge.
ZACK
FREEZE!
FELICITY stops chewing her cookie, the crumbs on her face all the evidence that is needed.
INT. DOWNSTAIRS TOWNHOUSE KITCHEN – DAY
KATHRYN comes downstairs to check on the commotion. She sees ZACK and FELICITY with the cookie and shakes her head, disappointment on her face.
KATHRYN
I’ll take it from here
Officer.
FADE OUT.
